Toexyprofession，inwhichbutfewarriveatmediocrity，isthemostdecisivemarkofwhatisiusorsuperiortalents。Thepublicadmirationonsuguishedabilitiesmakesalartoftheirreward;agreaterorsmallerinproportionasitishigherree。Itmakesasiderablepartofthatrewardintheprofessionofphysic;astillgreaterperhapsinthatoflaw;iryandphilosophyitmakesalmostthewhole。
