SirKingsleyWilliamAmis,(16April1922-22October1995)wasanEnglish,poet,dteacher。Hewrotemorethan20novels,sixvolumesofpoetry,amemoir,variousshortstories,radioandtelevisionscripts,alongwithworksofsodliterarycriticism。Agtohisbiographer,ZacharyLeader,Amiswas“thefiEnglishiovelistofthesedhalfofthetweury。”HewasthefatherofEnglishinAmis。

In2008,TheTimesrankedKingsleyAmisniofthe50greatestBritishwriterssince1945。
